Our collective love affair with Durham started way before Garman Homes even existed.
Jim Garman has called Durham home for the past 12 years. He'll tell you, 'I moved here with a ring in my pocket' to propose to his brilliant wife, Katie who, at the time, was a second year med student at Duke. Katie is still brilliant-now a physician at Duke University Health System. Jim & Katie live in Durham to this day and have since recruited Jim's parents to call Durham home as well.
My memories of Durham are just as rose-colored. When I moved here in 1999, my first job was at the Duke Center for Living. I met a boy named Jeff on my second day of work. Last week we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. Durham provided the perfect backdrop for our love story.
Fast forward to just five years ago when the very first Garman Home was built in Durham. We're proud to still be building our most eclectic and inspiring collection of homes in Durham. So much so that we decided to create a space to count all the ways we heart Durham.
