Giving back to Habitat...Take 2!

We love Habitat for Humanity!  When we started Garman Homes in the spring of 2007, we set aside $1,000 per home to go to Habitat for Humanity.  Pretty cool, right?  Well...after giving $43k we realized we couldn't sustain this through the tough years of 2009-2010...so we took a break.  It was a hard decision, but these were hard times.

I'm happy to say, we are back!  Maybe not to the $1k per home mark...yet...but we have begun to send money once again.  Someday we hope to build an entire village with Habitat.

Giving Back to the Interfaith Hospitality Network

Big thanks to my wife, Katie, for doing such wonderful work with the Durham Interfaith Hospitality Network.  Although our church has hosted homeless families through IHN for years, I never really "got it" until this past year when Katie got involved.  I love getting to know the families (especially the children) who benefit so much from the program.  Simply providing shelter and food for a few months can make such a difference for people trying to get back on their feet.

We hope the IHN team can multiply our $1,500 gift and touch as many people as possible.

Join us in the Race for the Cure!

Friends & Family,

Join us for the Race for the Cure! We have put together a team...called...you guessed it... The G-Team. And we will all be gathering on the morning of June 13th to walk/run together. Most of us are doing the 5k non-competitive fun run/walk.

I'm sure every one of us has loved ones who have been touched by breast cancer, this is a powerful way to say, "We're with you!" Please join us on June 13th. To register as part of the G-Team...
